Wrap Up

Wrap up for winter. These gorgeous cape-style coats are ideal paired with skinny jeans and boots for a comfy, warm yet on-trend look. The usual palette makes its usual appearance on the runway, however beautiful pastels and prints also apply this season to add texture and colour to your winter wardrobe.

Coats from Chloe and Ralph Lauren (above) steal the show this season.

Autumn/Winter 2014-15 Balenciaga Ready To Wear – Close up.

Alexander Wang is in his third season as creative director at Balenciaga, and has stamped his Wang print all over it. Thank god. The collection was full of simple structures - a typical Wang element that I absolutely love - as well as strong knitwear and quilting components intertwined in oversized cocoon silhouettes. From an accessories perspective Wang revealed metal cuffs and belts as well as a trio of structured glossy bags. Cobalt and tan stood out largely throughout the show – as well as soft greys and blacks. Simply gorgeous.

Ralph Lauren A/W 2014-15

The Ralph Lauren womenswear collection was the epitome of class and uptown luxe. Soft greys, white on white, and an array of mauve made this collection stand out well above the rest. Masculine tailoring, oversized cloaks and over the knee boots. What more could you ask for at a Lauren show?

Tartan is back and in a big way. Nearly every store or designer has produced their own take on the tartan trend this autumn. The tartan trend on the Autumn/Winter 13 catwalks produced softer, warmer, colour drenched autumnal checks. Celine took to the tartan army with large woven squares inside and out. Designers such as Tommy Hilfiger, Lanvin and Dolce and Gabbana took to the trend with head to toe prints. Stella McCartney went for the more subtle approach, by far my favourite, along with Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton. Tartan offers the grunge, laid back approach to the winter, with a range of colours and options to channel your inner punk.
